In a significant move to preserve Parksville’s natural beauty and ecological health, the City of Parksville has partnered with The Nature Trust of British Columbia to secure the preservation of 130 Shelley Road. This will safeguard vital habitats along the river and estuary, ensuring the protection of diverse wildlife and plant species for generations to come, right inside the boundaries of the City of Parksville.

The 130 Shelley Road property, located in the heart of Parksville, encompasses a rich tapestry of ecosystems. These areas are not only beautiful but are also critical for maintaining biodiversity, supporting local wildlife, and providing natural flood control and water filtration.

The City of Parksville and The Nature Trust of BC are planning to enhance public access to the area with carefully designed trails and educational signage, promoting awareness and appreciation of the local ecology. This project is a testament to what can be achieved through dedicated partnerships and a shared vision for a sustainable future.

For more information on this project and other environmental initiatives, please visit the City of Parksville’s website or The Nature Trust of BC’s official page.

I encourage you to get involved! Help make Parksville better by donating to and volunteering for the many amazing groups doing good work in our community.
